Four or five people have said things about me and how I fave all their stuff. Two have posted screenshots of the notifications. Apparently this is a bad thing. I can see how it can be a bad thing in huge binge sessions, which I need to work on, but otherwise I'm not in the wrong here. I like your stuff, but can't really comment on it. So don't cuss me out, don't block me, it only serves to piss off both parties and further stigmatize deviantart culture.

Okay, seriously. People are still whining about this. One person (not naming names, but you know who you are) even went so far as to accuse me of STEALING their art simply by faving. Yeah, they equated faving to art theft. Okay, time for a little lesson on what art theft is.

The basic definition of art theft is: using another person's art, either in its base form or edited, and claiming it's your own work. If I were doing that, I would be editing all the art I like, removing the artists' signatures, and posting them in my deviant gallery. I am not doing that. I am simply faving them. The art still has your name on it and everything, I just put it in my favorites, so at most I gave you free publicity.

Accusations like this could make more timid and submissive people feel like they're bad just because they fave deviations they like (and no, I'm not overexaggerating--I have a friend who is very sensitive like that at times), and that is not okay. People need to stop being anal-retentive douchebags about getting faves and just accept them, comments or no comments.

Ironically, I came here because you faved one of my pieces, isn't that funny?

I don't see it as a problem, it's not theft, some people on the internet have a tendency to overreact to things - shocker, right?

I don't comment usually because I have nothing meaningful to add and there's 3 other people already saying "cute" or "great", when people say things like this it comes off as fake - as if they are only doing art or drawing things for attention and to gain views.

The only time I've seen it be an issue is when there's so obviously a bot or script used to fav things to gain page views for themselves, it's extremely annoying when that happens ( it's happened a lot on DA ) but it's lame that people think like this, what an obnoxious and bratty thing to say...complaining about favorites? Seriously? You know there are wars and starvation in some countries right? Get some perspective, people. O_o
